LEAD-NPT Project UDEC is implementing a four-year (2005-8) capacity building project. The project is supported by the Royal Government of the Netherlands under the Netherlands Programme for Capacity Building in Post-secondary Education and Training (NPT). The programme is managed by Nuffic, in the Netherlands. It is also known as Local Entrepreneurship Action Development (LEAD) Project.
The objective of the project is to strengthen the Institutional capacity of University of Dar es Salaam Entrepreneurship Centre (UDEC( and Zanzibar Hotel and Tourism Institute (ZHTI) to enhance the growth and competitiveness of SME’s in Tanzania
The project components include: - Development and implementation of a Master of Enterprise Development (MED) degree
- Establishment of a knowledge based business incubator.
- Introduction of demand driven courses for SMEs and BDS providers
- Development of Business Development Services (BDS).
