UDEC supports students supports students of the University of Dar es Salaam (including its colleges) in various ways, including:
- Acting as the patron to Dar es Salaam University Entrepreneurship Forum, which is a forum of students and graduates interested in entrepreneurship
- Conducting a non-credit weekend/evening course on business planning for students and immediate UDSM graduates who are seriously interested in starting their own business
- Providing free business clinics to students who are either running or intend to run their own businesses. These clinics are held on Wednesdays every week (by appoinment)
- Providing training materials (on cost recovery basis) to students
- Conducting a career talk with all first year students where students are challenged to us the time they have at the University to develop competencies which will enable them become competitive and flexible after graduation, rather than working for certificates
